Tot Finder Decals Now Available
As many of you know October is fire prevention
month, and each year we try to present your children with a program that
is both easy to understand and very informative. We also supply them
with materials to help them refresh our message of fire safety. This
year we are very excited to bring a program that has not been around for
a while. We now have Tot Finder decals available. These decals should
be placed in a window of your child’s room. The purpose for this is so
firefighters can easily identify a room where a child might be in case
of a fire. The ones we now have are different from the ones in years
past. These decals are not stickers that are directly applied to the
window. These decals are hung in the window by using a suction cup. The
problem with the stickers was that a child would grow up, move out of
the home and the sticker would still remain in the window. These new
decals can be easily moved around and taken down. Many parents have
stopped in at the firehouse requesting these throughout the last couple
of years and we are excited that we can offer these now to you.
We have also received a
grant from Energizer battery of 225 9-volt batteries. If you need a
battery for your smoke detector at home, please stop by the firehouse.
A limit of three batteries per house, first come first serve, and please
provides a valid license with a Somers address.
If you have any questions
about these or any other fire prevention topics, or you would like a
decal and batteries please feel free to stop by the firehouse Mon.-Fri.
between 8-4 and speak with Glen Reynolds or Bob Wheeler.
