Somers Gymnast Wins Gold At West Point

Competing at the West Point Gymnastics Open on Saturday, J.D. Allsup won the Gold medal in the Level 5 All Around competition. In individual events, he earned a Gold medal in Still Rings and Floor Exercise as well as Silver medals in High Bar and Vault.

 The West Point Gymnastics Open is a regional gymnastics meet hosted at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. The meet attracts gymnasts from all over the northeast including New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

J.D. is 10 years old and has been competing as part of the Tim Daggett's Gymnastic Team for the past 2 years. He is a lifelong resident of Somers.
