Somers Senior Citizens' Club Offers Two Scholarships

The Somers Senior Citizens’ Club is offering two $1,000 Carol A. Dion scholarships. All applicants must be residents of Somers and must be graduating from an accredited high school. Applicants must be planning to attend (and have been accepted by) a four/two year college or a fully accredited/recognized Continuing Education Program which will result in receiving a certificate or a license. Applicants will be reviewed based on academic performance, character, extra curricular activities in school and in the community, and information contained within the application package. For those students who attend the Somers High School, the 2007 Application Forms are now available through the Somers High School Guidance Office. For those students who reside in Somers but attend other high schools, application forms are available by calling 749-9175. All completed application packages (including the specifically required recommendation letters and copy of transcript) must be received by April 27, 2007.
