SOMERS HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA CLUB
The SHS Drama Club is hard at work. We are producing the well known classic story of PETER PAN. Auditions have been
held, rehearsals have begun and the technical folks are all hard at work. We are having a blast!!!
Mrs. Kathy Welch, our Advisor, is also our Producer and Director. Mrs. Welch has been
with the Drama Club since 1992 (with a short sabbatical due to her professional occupation) and is very excited about
this particular choice. The very first live theatre experience she ever had (she was about 5 years old then), she saw
Mary Martin in PETER PAN on Broadway! The seed was sown and she’s never been the same since! She knew she would work
on this show sometime and is very excited that it turns out it will be with Somers High School (her “Never Land”).
Mrs. Angela (McCullough) Krimaytis is our Musical Director. Mrs. Krimaytis is a SHS
graduate (Class of 1995) and a former Drama Club member. She went on to get her degree in Music Education at the
University of Connecticut and was teaching in the Danbury school system for several years. She’s moved back to Somers
with her husband, Greg, and brand new baby, Robert, and is here “playing” with us!!! We are so happy to have her with
us!
Mrs. Katie DaSilva is our Choreographer. Mrs. DaSilva is also a SHS graduate and former
Drama Club member (but before Mrs. Welch arrived). She is the owner and operator of Riley’s Dance Studio in Enfield.
This is her second year working with SHS and we consider ourselves VERY lucky indeed.
