Responsible young adults wanted ages 14-21, who are interested in a challenging, rewarding, opportunity in law enforcement. Must be able to learn how to act efficiently under stressful situations.

Ride along with troopers and officers to assist with both criminal and motor investigations.

Gain knowledge in the field of law enforcement for career opportunities, and also earn the admiration and respect of the community in which you reside and serve.

 The Somers State Police Explorer Post 1066 was established in 1998 to offer young men and women an insight into the field of law enforcement. At the same time, members provide helpful services to the police department and the community.
The Somers State Police Explorers invite all youth, from the ages of 14 to 21, to join. There is no discrimination of race, religion, national origin or sex in the Connecticut State Police - Somers Police Explorers.

The Somers Police Explorers meet bi-weekly every month from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The Post Officers are:
  • Captain - Daniel Corbett
  • Lieutenant - William Daly
  • Sergeant - Timothy P. Lesniak

The Post Chairman is:

  • Sergeant Jose Claudio, Connecticut State Police
