What Somers Rotarians Do

Besides conducting fund raising projects to raise money to give to deserving groups or to fund our projects, Somers Rotarians are  committed to Rotary’s motto: “Service above Self” and are noted for getting involved in community projects that require a lot of their time and labor.

Some of the “Hands on” projects that we have participated in are:

  • Built the Lifestar Heliport at Johnson Memorial Hospital

  • Sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt

  • Built the Somers Senior Citizens Center

  • Sponsor the annual Fishing Derby in May

  • Coordinate High School student Fundraisers, like the annual Cider Pressing

  • Annually award Scholarships to graduating High School Seniors

  • Sponsor the annual Road Race during the Four Town Fair

  • Moved and repaired a lodge for Boy Scout Troop 83
