The Somers Recreation Dept. Skate Park located behind Town Hall is open this
season as weather permits. The park is open for in-line skaters and
skateboarders (No bikes allowed)
If you would like to utilize the Skate Park, please stop by the Recreation
Office or park during operating hours and complete a membership application
and release form. Skaters will then be issued a skate park “ID” for use upon
entering the park.
Work at the Skatepark
The Recreation Department is currently looking for
responsible young adults to employ as paid park attendants and/or parents to
supervise at the park during weekday afternoons from 3 – 6pm. These
attendants must complete CPR certification. Interested? Please contact the
Recreation Office @ 763-8231.
Without your help, the Skate Park will be unable to open during weekdays.
The possibility of beginning a Skate Park Association has been discussed at
the Recreation Commission meetings. If you would like to see the park open
on a more continuous basis and are interested in becoming a “skate park
parent”, please contact the Recreation Office @ 763-8231.
Plans are underway for a skateboard clinic on Saturdays this spring and
summer (dates to be determined). Please contact the Recreation Office to
register and for more information @ 763-8231.
