Somers Congregational Church

Baptisms

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated during the 10 a.m. worship service at times which are mutually convenient for the family of the one to be baptized, the pastor and the congregation. We normally practice infant baptism, but arrangements can be made for the baptism of older children and adults who have not previously been baptized. Arrangements for Baptism are made through the pastor.

Weddings

Our white clapboard meeting house, located in the center of Somers, and its fully accessible air-conditioned sanctuary with its colonial style center aisle, is an ideal place for a wedding. We strongly suggest that those wishing to be married in the church contact our pastor at least six months prior to the selected date. He will be glad to meet with you and help in planning the wedding service.

Funerals

Our pastor is available on short notice for these services. It is important that the pastor have an opportunity to meet with family members prior to the service. Funeral services may be held at the church, Funeral Home, or at the graveside. Our board of Deacons has prepared helpful booklets about pre-planning funerals and assisting in getting things in order to make the time of a death easier for survivors. These are available free of charge from the church office. Our pastor would be happy to talk pre-arrangements over with you at any time.
