Somers Congregational Church

Music Program

Our music program provides training for volunteer choirs and they in turn share their gifts and talents in worship. There are currently four choirs: Senior Choir, Children's Choir, Junior Choir and the Bell Choir.

The Senior Choir leads the congregation in music at every 10 a.m. service and most services on special occasions. The Senior Choir practices on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm from September to June.

The Children's Choir and Jr. Choir sings several times through the year, at the 10 a.m. service, as well as at the Christmas Pageant in December. These choirs practice on Sundays following the church service.

The Handbell Choir takes part in worship several times a year adding their melodic presence to worship. All ages, middle school and up, are welcome. The Handbell Choir practices for an hour on Sunday at 11:30 am. Playing the bells provides another way to make music, (for those who can't sing, for example) and a chance to learn about music.
