Somers Congregational Church

Women's Fellowship

Our church, and the Women’s Fellowship, has been in existence for 276 years. The name has been changed several times, but the group’s dedication and service has remained the same throughout the years.

Women’s Fellowship is open to all women, regardless of denomination. The group meets every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in room 116 at the church and a program is presented on the second Tuesday of the month. New members are always welcome and are encouraged to attend.

The group serves the church in many ways: they host a senior citizens lunch each year; they participate in the Material Aids program by sewing school bags; baby blankets have been knitted for Covenant to Care, and health kits are filled and assembled by the women and sent to Church World Services. The fellowship also makes feeding bibs and lap robes for the Evergreen Health Center and Blair Manor. The group also hosts several memorial receptions each year following services in the church.

Throughout the year, The Women’s Fellowship also sponsors SERRV (Sale Exchange for Refugee Rehabilitation Vocations) by selling handcrafted items from developing countries. Sales directly benefit the people who make the crafts.
