OF ASSESSORS
REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 5, 2002
Co-Chairman David Olsen called the meeting of the Board of
Assessors to order at 7:30 PM.
Present: Dave Olsen and John Moak. Also present
Janice Steinmetz, Assessor
Minutes: John Moak made a motion to accept the
January 8, 2002 minutes as written. Seconded. Unanimously approved.
Bills to be paid: CAAO annual dues for the three
members of the Board and Janice $200.00. Mileage for January and supplies to
Janice Steinmetz $46.93. A motion made by John Moak to pay the bills presented.
Seconded. Voted unanimously.
Correspondence: A memo from the First Selectman, Dick
Jackson on the up and coming bill on Revaluation.
The board asked that a memo be written to the Board of
Selectmen and a copy to the Chairman of the Board of Finance on status of the
revaluation in Somers.
The good news is that Somers will receive a grant of
$12,500, when the revaluation is completed, for signing the revaluation
contract with 2 or more towns using the same revaluation company.
Old Business: Grand List will be completed and signed
by February 28th.
New Business: None
Revaluation: It is underway and surveys will be sent
to owners who had purchased real estate property in the past two years.
