FIRE COMMISSIONERS

REGULAR MEETING

THURSDAY January 16, 2003

 

CALL TO ORDER:                           The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Bob McCulloch

Members Present:                        Bob McCulloch, David Palmer, Carl Rohrbach, Tony Bruno and Alice

                                                                 Van Tasel

 

Others Present:                                  Bill Meier, Tom Mehl and Bill Bouchelle

 

MINUTES APPROVAL:              On a motion by Mr. Bruno, seconded by Mr. Palmer, the

Minutes of the Meeting of December 19, 2002 were unanimously approved.

 

AUDIENCE COMMENTS:            Tom Mehl reported that the Fire Department has several events coming up, including:  Pancake breakfast, January 26 from 7:00am to 1:00pm.   CPR classes on January 28th & 29th.  Blood drive on February 6th from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.  Photo show on March 30th.

                                                                 

                                                                 

           

FIRE MARSHAL:            No Report

                                                           

FIRE CHIEF                                      Chief Meier stated that Fire Department needed to be able to back-up their computer records with a tape drive or zip drive.  The Fire Commission suggested the Chief use the Training account to purchase the needed equipment.

                                                            Chief Meier stated that Bob Sciaretta resigned as Deputy Chief and that he will no longer be handling the Fire Department budget.  Mr. Bouchelle will be authorized to sign Fire Department purchase orders.

 

BUDGET REVIEW            Chief Meier presented the Fire Department and Ambulance budgets for review.  The Fire budget has 46% remaining with Vehicle Maintenance the only account that is falling short at present.  The Ambulance budget has 78% remaining with no problems anticipated.

                                                                

 

NEW BUSINESS:            Chief Meier requested permission to check into the possibility of installing a security alarm at the Fire House because of the recent break in.  There was considerable damage to the building and a television was stolen.           

 

ADJOURNMENT:            A motion to adjourn was made at 8:50pm by Mr. Bruno, seconded by Mrs. Van Tasel, and approved unanimously.
