MINUTES
APPROVAL: Minutes of May 13, 2003 - Motion by Dora Randall, second by Norma Keeney to unanimously
approve as read.
CORRESPONDENCE: E-mail from
Pat Broer while she is in Idaho on comments for this meeting. Letter from Sharon Zimmerman, State
Director, New England Program, Experience Works regarding notification from DOL
to cut their funding by 20%.
COMMITTEES:
Meals
on Wheels: As of June 6, 2003, balance in Savings Account after withdrawal
of $500 was $l1,835.46. Checking
Account after deposits of $1,415.00 and disbursement of $1,495.50 was $673.74.
For the 4-week month, 5/5 – 5/31, there were 15 clients served 398 meals;
subsidized meals amounted to $484.00.
Senior
Luncheons: Tentative schedule for next year’s luncheons was distributed. Thank you letters were sent to each
organization for their luncheons for the seniors who enjoyed them very much.
Senior
Organization: No report
OLD
BUSINESS: Cell phones - Jim has 8
on hand. Pat reports that the trip to
Foxwoods in July is almost full. The
trip to “Driving Miss Daisy” is receiving positive support. Ray Trask will be
putting public notices in the papers.
The
matter of re-paving the parking lot and painting lines was brought up.
Christmas
Party at Joanna’s has not as yet been approved by the Senior Organization.
The
jurisdiction of Senior Advisory Board over the Senior Center and its functions
needs clarification from Mr. Jackson.
NEW BUSINESS:
Advisory Board will not meet
in July and August unless there is an emergency. Jim announced the resignation of Gil Rivard as president of the
Senior Organization and Nancy Corbett will step up from V.P. to president.
Get
Well card will be sent to Loyal Madden.
Members inquired about the status of the Senior Housing project.
Jim
reported that eggs were thrown at the front door of the Center.
