TOWN OF SOMERS
ZONING COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2003
I. CALL TO ORDER:
The Zoning Commission meeting of June 16, 2003 was called to order by Vice Chairman Wood at 7:30pm. Members Wood, Martin, Sulikowski and Burnette (7:35), and Alternate Members Slater (seated for Klein) and Conklin (7:35) were present and constituted a quorum. Also in attendance was Town Planner Patrice Carson.
II. MINUTES APPROVAL:
A motion was made by Mr. Martin, seconded by Mr. Slater, and unanimously voted to approve the June 2, 2003 Zoning Commission meeting minutes as written.
III. OLD BUSINESS:
a. OTHER
Mrs. Carson reminded the Commission that the public hearings for the gravel bank renewals and amendments to the Zoning Regulations would be held on Monday, June 30, 2003 beginning at 7:00pm in the town hall.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
a. SPECIAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION FOR OFFICE
TRAILER, 111 GEORGE WOOD ROAD, SPAZZARINI CONSTRUCTION, INC. – RENEWAL REQUEST
Mrs. Carson reviewed the original application for a construction trailer which is due to expire on July 14, 2003. The trailer is a requirement for construction being done on Hall Hill Road as part of a grant received by the town and construction is expected to be finished within the next year.
A motion was made by Mr. Slater, seconded by Mr. Martin, and unanimously voted to accept the Special Use Permit application of Spazzarini Construction, Inc. for an office trailer at 111 George Wood Road, refer it to the Planning Commission and schedule a public hearing for Monday, June 30, 2003.
V. STAFF/COMMISSIONER
REPORTS:
Mrs. Carson distributed the ZEO’s report (attached). A motion was made by Mr. Slater, seconded by Mrs. Burnette, and unanimously voted to accept the ZEO’s report for 06/01/03 to 06/08/03.
VI. AUDIENCE
PARTICIPATION: There was none.
VII. CORRESPONDENCE AND BILLS:
A thank you letter was received from Chairman Klein. for the fruit basket sent to him by the Commission.
A motions was made by Mr. Martin, seconded by Mr. Slater, and unanimously approved to pay the following bills:
Journal Inquirer – 05/05/03 meeting $39.35
Jim Taylor – film $23.31
VIII. ADJOURNMENT:
A motion was made by Mr. Slater, seconded by Mrs. Burnette, and unanimously voted to adjourn the Zoning Commission Meeting of June 16, 2003 at 7:40pm.

Enforcement activity:
1. 24 Hall Hill Rd., S. Meyer. Tree replacement in process. Will inspect again after July 10, 2003
2. 48 South Rd. Southfield Corner, Outdoor Lighting C&D Order was issued on April 21, 2003. No response as of May 15,
4. Worthington Pond. Met with Dan Roulier on May 13, 2003 and inspected the property. There are four small Utility buildings/Animal Shelters that require Zoning Permits. Two other very small portable tool sheds will not require Zoning Permits. .Dan Roulier has agreed to obtain the four subject permits and to also install a new Main Gate at the entrance to the property. Permits currently in the approval process.
5. 7 Florida Road, Side Yard Set-Back violation and Failure to obtain zoning for accessory structure. Requested Compliance
