REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER: Carl Rohrbach
called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

MINUTES
APPROVAL:
No action taken
FIRE MARSHAL:
·
A motion by
Mr. Bruno, seconded by Mr. Lawlor to approve payment of the Fire Marshal
activities for the period from 10/19/03 through 11/15/03 passed
unanimously. Nine of the 61 hours were
devoted to school renovation project.
·
A motion by
Mr. Bruno, seconded by Mrs. Van Tasel to approve “Continuing Education for Fire
Marshals” classes for Fire Marshal (2 sessions) and Deputy Fire Marshal (8
sessions) over the next seven months.
·
Fire Prevention education
at the elementary school was well received thanks to the efforts of
Firefighters Bob Wheeler and Glen Reynolds.
Fire Prevention Week poster contest was completed today. Local winner goes to the state contest.
·
School renovation plan
reviews continue. Meeting 12/2 with
architect and state official to discuss exit issues.
·
Kibbe-Fuller received state
grant for handicap bathroom and asbestos removal.
·
Grant application for Hazard
House has been submitted to FEMA.
·
Inspections of businesses
are current although some paperwork is behind.
Apartment inspections are on schedule.
FIRE CHIEF:
·
Frank Falcone will
begin as Paid Shift Captain on November 24, 2003.
·
Full time firefighter,
Tim O’Connell, has terminated. A search
for a replacement will begin when shift Captain on board.
·
The Chief has
reconsidered and will be CIP representative again with help from the new shift
Captain.
BUDGET REVIEW:
Both Ambulance and Fire budgets on
track
2004
MEETING SCHEDULE:
The proposed meeting
schedule for 2004 was accepted.
NEW BUSINESS:
The regular December 18 meeting will be canceled
and rescheduled as a Special meeting on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 7 pm at
the Somers Fire House.
ADJOURNMENT:
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:35 p.m. by Mr.
Bruno, seconded by Mr. Lawlor and approved unanimously. The regular December 18 meeting will be
canceled and rescheduled as a Special meeting on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at
7 pm at the Somers Fire House.
