I. CALL TO ORDER:
Secretary Dan Fraro called the
meeting to order at 7:38 p.m. Members
present were: George VanTasel; Jim
Faust; Steve Getman and Dan Fraro.
Vice-Chairman Charles Colby
arrived
at 8:00 p.m. and Chairman Jim Botellio came in at 8:10 p.m.
II. Approval of Minutes: July 6, 2004
Dan Fraro made a motion to approve
the July 6, 2004 minutes, as written.
This motion was seconded by Jim Faust and unanimously approved by the
Authority.
III. 145-147 Main Street; Proposed Age
Restricted Housing; Two J's LLC
Jeff Lipton, developer, has not
signed an agreement with the Town for this ARH development yet. Discussion will be postponed until this
agreement is in place.
IV. HWC vs. Town of Somers:
The question was brought up as to
why the State should be paying for the hydrants.
After
a brief discussion, it was the consensus of the Authority to place this item on
hold and see what develops in the future.
V. Somersville/Maple Ridge O&M
a. Set
Public Hearing Date
George
VanTasel made a motion to set the public hearing date for establishing the
sewer user rate for the Somersville Sewage Treatment Facility and the Maple
Ridge Community/On-Site systems for September 7, 2004 at 7:15 p.m. in the Town
Hall Conference Room. This motion was
seconded by Steve Getman and unanimously approved by the Authority.
VI. Correspondence/Audience
Participation:
Dan Fraro read DOC's reply to Steve
Jacobs' request for an approved copy of the environmental impact
evaluation. David Batten, DOC Director,
stated that the study has been approved as written. Just remove the word "draft" from the document.

VanTasel said the State is still doing a new sewer line study.

Steve
Jacobs sent a letter to Jacqueline Cametota of 232 George Wood Road asking her
to sign an agreement to have her well either permanently or temporarily
abandoned so that we can move forward with connecting her property to public
water.

Jim Faust made a motion to pay the
bills; seconded by Steve Getman and unanimously approved by the Authority.
VIII. Adjournment:
George VanTasel made a motion to
adjourn; seconded by Steve Getman and unanimously approved by the
Authority. The meeting adjourned at
8:00 p.m.
