Members Present:  H.Broer, J.Butler, K.Klein, J.MacFeat, J.Formeister, P.Roland (8:00)

Ex-Officio:  B.Boutwell

Others:  D.Moser, E.Zahner

The meeting was called to order at 7:33pm by J.Formeister.

Minutes of the 12/16/04 meeting were unanimously approved as presented (Klein, Broer).

SHS---E.Zahner distributed and reviewed his written report and stated there are no real issues with SHS project.

D.Moser distributed Critical Path Schedule; J.Butler stated he did not receive this via e-mail as requested last month, though A.Seagrave had told E.Zahner it was sent.  Discussion of completion date of 4/12/05 followed; Committee wants to be sure more days do not turn into more money, yet does not want project rushed.  Building Inspector is in 3 times weekly.  E.Zahner stated G.Lloyd said he’ll be more certain of completion date in a couple of weeks.  Question of Builder’s risk insurance and cost to us.

D.Moser stated he received on 1/13/05 verbal and faxed approval on FF&E from State.  We can now go out to bid and also order remainder of items.  B.Boutwell will handle ordering.

Discussion of air conditioning in temporary C.O. space---need 4 units, estimate very high, are stand-alone units possible?  E.Zahner will discuss with Greg Genlot for ideas.

SES---E.Zahner’s written report was reviewed, 5 items to be addressed.  We can take a credit for mixing valve in janitor’s closet, not needed with electric water heater (for classrooms and bathrooms).  Condensation pump in band/choral areas not needed.  Brick wall with lockers---E.Zahner suggested sheet rock over brick, which is deteriorating.  Efis wall---on one area, existing brick should be efis.  Shut-off valve needed, no way to isolate plumbing of new wing.  A motion was made (Butler), seconded (MacFeat), and unanimously approved to give the Chairman permission to work out pricing details with E.Zahner to go ahead with these 5 items.  Eventually there will be change orders for them.  Schedule---will finish cafeteria addition 3/17/05.

MBA---D.Moser reported that 6 contractors attended mandatory pre-bid walk-through.  All asked for an extension to write bids.  Prices of various materials are going up.  A motion was made (Klein), seconded (Butler), and unanimously approved to open bids on 2/2/05 at 2pm instead of 1/19/05.

A Special Inspection Proposal was received from Macchi Eng. for $6000.  This firm has worked well with us on present projects.  Motion to approve Macchi Eng.’s proposal for MBA for $6000 was unanimously approved (MacFeat, Broer).

Chart with prices from testing companies was reviewed.  Motion to approve Special Testing as MBA testing service was unanimously approved (Butler, Broer).

Correspondence---P.Roland noted a letter he had written to the BOE regarding B.Boutwell’s diligent and invaluable service to the Building Committee.
