ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
Special Meeting Minutes
October 25, 2005
Call To Order: Chairman Torres called the meeting
to order at 7:40 P.M.
Members Present: John Torres, Edward Mack, James
Meagher, James Beaulieu, Barbara Flebotte and Robert Minch. Absent:
Daniel Scully
Chairman Torres seated Barbara Flebotte for Dan
Scully and she will also act as Secretary.
Public Hearing
1.
John and Karen Gladu
The public hearing opened at 7:41 P.M. The Acting Secretary read the legal
notice. Because this application is a
continuation, Chairman Torres seated alternate, Robert Minch in place of Edward
Mack who was absent at the last meeting.
Mr. Gladu of 4 Rye Hill Circle approached the
Board. He submitted a letter from the
Town Sanitarian indicating that pushing the addition back, as suggested in the
last ZBA meeting, would interfere with the septic system and was not an
alternative. Chairman Torres read a
letter from abutters John and Mima Batiste stating they were against the
variance for safety reasons. No other
abutters were present.
After discussion ended, Chairman Torres re-seated
Edward Mack.

Michael Hearn
The Acting Secretary read the legal notice. Mr. Hearn of 407 Hall Hill Road approached
the Board. He is seeking a variance to
increase his garage to two bays. No
abutters were present. Mr. Hearn
submitted two letters in support of his request.

David R. Monahan
The Acting Secretary read the legal notice. Mr. Monahan of 67 Pinney Road approached the
Board. He is seeking a variance for
location of a propane storage tank. No
abutters were present.
4.
Morin Mechanical
Services, LLC
Chairman Torres submitted a letter from the
applicant’s attorney to withdraw their request for a variance at this time.
After discussion, motion made by Commissioner
Beaulieu to adjourn the public hearing; second by Commissioner Meagher. Motion was approved unanimously. The public hearing ended at 8:11 P.M.

Motion made to cease discussion and vote by
Commissioner Beaulieu; second by Commissioner Flebotte. Motion approved unanimously to allow
addition with a 7-foot setback at 4 Rye Hill Circle.

Michael Hearn
Motion made to cease discussion and vote by
Commissioner Mack; second by Commissioner Meagher. Motion approved unanimously to approve a 9-foot side yard setback
to allow for garage addition.

David R. Monahan
Motion made to cease discussion and vote by
Commissioner Beaulieu; second by Commissioner Meagher. Motion denied unanimously due to a lack of
hardship.

Morin Mechanical
Services, LLC
This application has been withdrawn.
Old Business: None.
New Business: Somers High School student, Matthew
Urena approached the Board to ask questions for his U.S. History class.
Correspondence: None.
Bills: Motion made to pay all ZBA bills
including $251.84 to the Journal Inquirer by Commissioner Mack; second by
Commissioner Flebotte. Motion approved
unanimously.
Adjournment: Motion made by Commissioner
Beaulieu to adjourn; second by Commissioner Meagher. Motion approved unanimously.
The meeting ended at 8:40 P.M.
