REGULAR MEETING

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2005

    

MINUTES

 

  1. CALL TO ORDER

 

Co-Chairman Robert Loubier called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. in the Assessor’s Office, 600 Main Street, Somers, Connecticut.  Also present were Michael Boyer, and Pat Juda, Assessor.

 

 

  1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 8, 2005, SPECIAL MEETING OF OCTOBER 6, 2005 & REGULAR MEETING OF NOVEMBER 1, 2005.

 

Mike Boyer made a motion to approve the minutes of the special meeting of September 8, 2005 and the minutes of the meeting held November 1, 2005. This motion was seconded by Bob Loubier and unanimously approved.

 

Bob Loubier made a motion to approve the minutes of the special meeting of October 6, 2005.  This motion was seconded by Mike Boyer and unanimously approved.

 

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE

 

No correspondence was received.

 

  1. ASSESSOR’S OFFICE REPORT

 

·        November Sales Ratios mailed to State December 1, 2005.

 

·        Supplemental Motor Vehicle List is complete – ready for Quality Data to print bills.

 

·        All new PA 490 classifications filed with the Town Clerk on November 30.

 

·        All  personal property returns are entered into system.

 

·        Real Estate inspections are complete.

 

·        Pat’s opinion of the GUI system is that it is a superior product, and the personal property module will save considerable time valuing property in future years.

 

·        Pat reported the battery backup on Gloria’s computer appears to be malfunctioning.  Bob asked Pat to double check on backup procedures.

 

M/M/C to accept Assessor’s report.

 

 

  1. BILLS TO BE PAID

 

The following was approved for payment:

 

·        $39.38 to Office Max for a toner cartridge

 

M/M/C to pay Office Max.

 

  1. 2004 REVALUATION

 

Pat reported Prophecy One has not yet delivered all the updated photos.   Payment is being withheld until photos are received.

 

M/M/C to accept Assessor’s 2004 revaluation report.

 

  1. 2009 REVALUATION

 

Current legislation requires Somers to conduct a revaluation for October 1, 2009.  Plans were made to begin designing a RFP in 2007.

 

M/M/C to accept Assessor’s 2009 revaluation report.

 

 

  1. NEW BUSINESS

 

·        2006 meetings are scheduled for the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

 

·        Results of a 2005 Assessor’s salary survey were presented for review.
