Meeting Minutes for December 21, 2005

Meeting called to order at 7:30 by Chairman Len Slaga

In attendance were Len Slaga, Tony Pellegrino, Gil Rivard, Mafalda Carra and Lois Matczak. Absent was Barbara Henderson.

Minutes of meeting in November were approved.

Tony Pellegrino will be attending a seminar on January 26^th in Milford. The topic is “Elderly Housing for the Elderly, not Handicapped”. Presently Woodcrest is required to take applications for those under age 62 years & are on Social Security Disability.

The land acquisition status discussions were about the adjacent cemetery land.

1) Len Slaga met with Ann Logan on adjacent Cemetery land & received deeds, regulations, maps, etc

2) This land received approval from the Commission Members. There are no deed restrictions & the Town of Somers determines the allocation of land use.

3) Next step is to request 10 acres of this land at the January 23, 2006 Selectman’s Meeting. The Cemetery Committee will be invited.

Commission member Barbara Henderson had attended only 2 out of 19 meetings. Commission recommends a replacement. Barbara Flebotte has expressed an interest to be a member.
