COMPUTER COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES

March 15, 2006 – 8:00 pm

Lower Conference Room

 

 

1.             Call to Order

                Charles Colby called the meeting to order at 8:09 pm.

 

2.                Members Present

                Charlie Colby, Mike Duffy, Rick Lees, and Jay Doyon.  Also in attendance were Mike Redmond and David Pinney.

 

3.                Approval of Minutes

                The minutes of 11/15/2005 was motioned for approval by Rick Lees, seconded by Jay Doyon.  All in favor.

 

Mike Duffy made a motion to approve the minutes of 2/15/2006, seconded by Rick Lees.  All in favor.

 

4.             Old Business

·         Email transition complete

·         A DSL connection will be installed for the Highway Department

 

5.             New Business               

·         Motion made by Jay Doyon to approve “On the Fly…” to begin migrating all local machines to the network for sharing and backup.  Seconded by Rick Lees.  10 hour time estimate.  All in favor.

·         Motion made by Charlie Colby to approve “On the Fly…” to begin off-site backup services, seconded by Mike Duffy.  Cost is approximately $30/month based upon current space usage.  All in favor.

·         Next meeting discussion items:

o        Create database to track committee members, shared alias email lists, etc.

o        Request feedback from town employees regarding what standard forms could be completed and filed over the web.

o        Hardware recycling plan.

7.             Next Meeting

                The next meeting is scheduled for April 19, 2006 at 8:00 pm in the Selectmen’s Conference Room.

                The meeting adjourned by mutual consent at 9:40 pm.
