CHARTER REVISION COMMITTEE

TOWN HALL

May 9, 2006 7:30 PM

Present: Alyson Vecchiarelli, Chair, members Jordan Chatis, Bill Kirkpatrick, Brad Pellissier, and Janet Starr, First Selectman David Pinney, Selectman Ernie Allsup, and Town Clerk Ann Logan.

Call to Order: Chair Alyson Vecchiarelli called the meeting to order at 7:34.

Approval of Minutes: The minutes of 5/3/06 were unanimously approved as written.

Preparation for Public Hearing: Alyson Vecchiarelli reviewed the conduct of the committee’s hearing scheduled for 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10.

-The meeting will begin with the introduction of the committee members and review of the charge from the selectmen.

- The committee will then hear from any one who has an opinion about the charge or anything in the charter as it now reads.

- Although committee members may ask for clarification or additional information, our task is to listen, rather than to engage in discussion with those presenting their ideas.

We will meet for the hearing on Wednesday, May 10 and continue after the hearing to review the hearing and make plans for gathering information.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:48.
