REGULAR MEETING

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 2006

 

MINUTES

 

 

  1. CALL TO ORDER

 

Co-Chairman Robert Loubier called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Assessor’s Office, 600 Main Street, Somers, Connecticut.  Also present were Co-Chairman, David Olsen, Mike Boyer and Pat Juda, Assessor.

 

  1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 4, 2006.

 

Dave made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 4, 2006 regular meeting.  This motion was seconded by Mike and unanimously approved.

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE

 

The Board was presented with a memo from the Office of the First Selectman concerning updated nameplates.

 

  1. ASSESSOR’S OFFICE REPORT

 

·        On May 30, the Charter Revision Committee voted unanimously to leave language in the charter concerning the Board of Assessors.

 

·        May’s sales ratio is .56.

 

·        All elderly homeowner’s benefits have been calculated and the bills have been updated.

 

·        On June 13, Assessor will visit Wood Crest to take applications for rent rebates.  The office is currently accepting applications through September 15.

 

·        Prorates for new construction total 754,878 in additional assessments to the 2005 Grand List to date.

 

 

·        Gloria Reis is planning to return June 5.  Ellen Hendrick will be working in the afternoons, while Pat attends UCONN re-certification classes.

 

·        Survey maps & their respective field cards were mailed to Sewell for updating Assessor’s maps.

 

M/M/C to accept the Assessor’s report.

 

  1. BILLS TO BE PAID

 

The following were approved for payment:

 

·        Office Max                                                $37.18

·        W. B. Mason                                                $41.34

 

M/M/C to pay Office Max and W. B. Mason.
