CHARTER REVISION COMMITTEE

TOWN HALL

August 17, 2006    7:30 PM

 

Present: Chair Alyson Vecchiarelli, Vice Chair Jordan Chatis, members Bill Kirkpatrick, and Brad Pellissier

 

Call to Order: Chair Alyson Vecchiarelli called the meeting to order at 7:35 P.M.

 

Discussion of Suggested Changes from the Selectmen:

A motion was made seconded and passed unanimously to accept the selectmen’s change for section 2.1b.

 

A motion was made seconded and passed unanimously to accept the selectmen’s change for section 2.5b.  This change allows an elected board 30 days to find a person of the some political party and, if no one can be found an additional 30 days to find any qualified person.

 

A motion was made seconded and passed unanimously to accept the selectmen’s change for section 5.3.

 

A motion was made seconded and passed unanimously to accept the selectmen’s change for Chapter 5.

 

Recommendation concerning the referendum:

The committee voted unanimously to recommend to the selectmen that the charter changes be put into at least two questions on the ballot, one of which would contain only the change to an appointed treasurer and tax collecter.

 

Adjournment:  The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
