TOWN OF SOMERS
Somersville
Planning Committee
Minutes - Initial
Meeting
Thursday, October
5, 2006
7:00 p.m.
Town Hall
Conference Room
1. Call to
Order:
First Selectman David Pinney called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
2. Members
Present:
Ronald Elliott, Jeff Foss, Pat Kennedy, Ann Levesque, Everett Morrill, Barry Moynihan, David Reed and Karl Walton. First Selectman David Pinney was also present.
Members
Absent:
Robert Lapadula
3. Review
Scope of Work and Time Frame
David Pinney distributed copies of the Rte 190 corridor study. The members had already received copies of the proposed Scope of Work that had been part of the STEAP
grant application for funds to support this planning activity. The group reviewed some of the parts represented within these documents as well as other potential topics for the group to take up.
4. Review
Use of Design Consultant
The members of the committee do anticipate working with a consultant and would like to meet with the engineer who created the proposed Scope of Work that supported the STEAP grant. David Pinney will contact that individual to confirm his availability and set a time to meet.
5. Organize
Committee and Elect Officers
The members decided to establish David Reed as Chairman, Pat Kennedy as Vice-Chairman and Ann Levesque as Secretary.
6. Identify
Regular Meeting Schedule
The membership considered that Thursday looked good for everybody and decided it should be the first and third Thursday of every month so as not to conflict with Karl Walton's commitment to Planning meetings on the second and fourth Thursday of every month.
The members would like to have the design engineer come to the next meeting proposed for October 19, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the downstairs conference room but would consider a different date within that week if that enabled more complete attendance for that particular meeting.
