TOWN OF SOMERS

LIBRARY EXPANSION STUDY COMMITTEE

November 1, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 5 PM.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Jim Conlin, Mike Gruber, Tim Welch, Shirley Warner, Ed Burns and Irma Claman. Bob Socha was absent.

Also present were Francine Aloisa and Ken Best.

Tim Welch moved to approve the minutes of October 18, 2006. Mike Gruber seconded and approved unanimously.

Jim Conlin moved to approve the minutes of October 20, 2006. Shirley Warner seconded and approved unanimously.

Jim Conlin moved to approve the minutes of October 25, 2006. Shirley Warner seconded and approved unanimously.

Discussion was had about the expansion information session held on October 30th.

Irma Claman moved that LESC conduct a petition drive to support the proposed library expansion. Shirley Warner seconded and approved unanimously.

Ed Burns reported that the term of the LESC has been extended by vote of the board of selectmen.

Mike Gruber moved that November 14, 2006 be set as the date of the next public meeting to inform town residents of the proposed library expansion. Seconded by Ed Burns and approved unanimously.

Shirley Warner has sent out 12-14 requests for grants in connection with the library expansion.

The meeting adjourned at 6:10 PM.
