TOWN OF SOMERS

LIBRARY EXPANSION STUDY COMMITTEE

November 15, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 5 PM.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Bob Socha, Jim Conlin, Ed Burns, Shirley Warner, Tim Welch and Irma Claman. Mike Gruber was absent.

Francine Aloisa was also present.

Shirley Warner' moved to approve the minutes of November I, 2006. Seconded by Jim Conlin and approved unanimously.

Bob Socha moved to approve the minutes of November 8, 2006. Seconded by Ed Burns and approved unanimously.

The committee discussed the information session held for town residents on November 14th at Kibbe Fuller.

Discussion was also had on the funding of the expansion project and the steps to be taken to go to referendum.

Tim Welch moved that the Library Expansion Study Committee meet with the board of finance on December 18th and, with their approval, meet with the selectmen to set a date for a referendum on January 30, 2007 to have the townspeople vote for acceptance or rejection of the proposed library project. Seconded by Jim Conlin and approved unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 6:10 PM.
