SOMERS SCHOOL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE

December 14, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by Vice-Chairman J.Persano.

Minutes of the 11/9/06 meeting were unanimously approved as presented

(Cowles, Butler).

MBA/CO---the move during vacation was discussed. Cafeteria will be ready

after vacation, band and chorus rooms are almost finished. Science rooms

will move 1/6/07, offices 1/16/07. Media Center moving to addition; some

shelving is available.

PCO list was distributed and discussed by H. Pearson. There is $43,782.00

contingency available (before these PCO's). A motion was unanimously

approved to approve PCO's #88, 89, 90, and 91 for a total of $3230.00

(Broer, Butler). #90 is part of the grease trap issue, $2656.00. The next

construction phase should not be so problematic, per E. Zahner.

There was brief discussion concerning the need to close out the SHS and SES

projects this month and to ask the BOF to allow the Building Committee to

use remaining funds if needed for the MBA/CO project, especially items such

as the grease trap, which was a new State mandate after renovation began. A

motion was unanimously approved to close out the SHS and SES projects and

ask the BOF to move remaining contingency funds to an appropriate account

(Broer, Cowles).

H.Pearson asked about plaques to be placed in the buildings and what names

should be on them. Consensus was the nine Building Committee members,

B.Boutwell, and First Selectman David Pinney.
