SOMERS SCHOOL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE

                  March 8, 2007

 

Members Present:  T.Cowles, K.Klein, J.Butler, H.Broer, J.Formeister,

J.O'Brien, P.Roland, J.MacFeat

The meeting was called to order at 7:33pm by Chairman Roland.

 

Minutes of the 2/22/07 meeting were unanimously approved as presented

(O'Brien, Butler).

 

MBA/CO---H.Pearson reported that Phase 5 is on schedule, with substantial

completion expected by April vacation week, furniture coming in just before.

Completing Media Center now and hoping it will back on line after vacation.

Science rooms are roughed out, casework coming in.

Next week full operation in kitchen.

Sheet distributed showing 91% completion with 96% contingency left after

tonight's meeting.

A motion was unanimously approved to approve PCO#110 for $3886, adding panic

devices on doors to Band and Choral rooms, since occupancy may be greater

than 100 (Broer, O'Brien).

H.Pease reported he has been keeping lists, mainly minor items that EBI is

taking care of.

P.Roland distributed draft copies of a letter to Susan and Emery Zahner.

 

Old Business---P.Roland stated the gym floor and bleachers are still slated

to be covered by leftover contingency money from SES and SHS projects.  He

and B.Boutwell will attend BOF meeting, then issue will go to BOS and Town

Meeting in the necessary format; this is a bonding issue as far as the

wording goes and must be voted on by the Town.

$1000 for overseeding was held back in 11/05 from EBI App.#15.  The work has

been done and payment is requested.  A motion was unanimously approved to

pay EBI the $1000 (O'Brien, MacFeat).

J.MacFeat reported the kiln has been ordered for $2350, plus $525 for new

hood and $280 for electrical hookup.  Also the monitor for security camera

in main office needs to be mounted ($185) and electricity run to it ($275).

Air compressor for dust collector in tech room needs power.

 

The following bills were unanimously approved by the Committee:

 

EBI #23, 2/28/07, CO $2500, MBA $132,155.60           (O'Brien, Butler)

 

Misc. vendors per B.Boutwell 3/8/07 memo              (Klein, Cowles)
