TOWN OF SOMERS

                                                      LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE 

July 25, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 5 PM.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Tim Welch, Shirley Warner, Jim Conlin, Mike Gruber, Phil Rosenthal, Andy Phillips and Irma Claman.  Bob Socha was absent.

Also present were Francine Aloisa, Ryszard Szczypek and Dan LaMontagne of Tai Soo Kim.

Shirley Warner moved to approve the minutes of May 30, 2007, June 4, 2007 and July 11, 2007.  Seconded by Jin Conlin and approved unanimously.

Tim Welch announced that a contract between the Town of Somers and Tai Soo K im has been signed

The architect presented revised schematic plans and discussion ensued.

Ryszard Szczypek has met with the Somers town planner and the town sanitarian.

The architect stressed the need for a survey of the activity area of the library property.  Andy Phillips moved to authorize Tai Soo Kim to engage the services of URS Corp. for a site survey as prescribed by To Design LLC at a cost not to exceed $6490.00, including the architect's markup.  Seconded by Mike Gruber and approved unanimously.

Discussion was had about the pros and cons of library construction taking place with the staff remaining in the building and the staff re-locating

The next meeting of the Library Building Committee will be on Thursday, August 9th at 5 PM.

The meeting adjourned at 6:30 PM.
