Discussion of Schematic Plan Changes/Refinements presented by Architect.
Jeanette presented analysis of the Library Collection based on a 20 year volumne projection. Also provided was a much more detail design with respect to the distribution of collection materials throughout the new and remodeled floor space.
Phil Barlow presented 3 alternatives with respect to landscape/parking design. The designs concentrated on the front of the building although 4 conceptual renderings were presented for the Courtyard. The Committee asked Phil to proceed with more detailed design work based on Landscape Alternative A.
A flow test was done and the restuls were that there is sufficient water pressure for building use including dry sprinklers.
Future plans include touching base with the State Traffic Commission regarding the need for a Traffic Plan.
Discussion of Library temporary Relocation during Construction.
We are proceeding with planning for the temporary relocation of the Children’s section of the Library to the Town Hall Auditorium during the period of new construction and remodeling. This will allow the Contractor to have use of existing contingent space to the new construction during the first stages of construction. The Selectmen are supportive of the temporary relocation plan and this Committee will begin work on move details. Jeannette supplied color images of the existing F F & E as well as a schematic plan with respect to their placement within the temporary space.
Plans: Comments/Questions on the Draft of the Mechnical/Electrical Systems schematic Design Narrative, if any, are due to Tim by 10/9 end of day. Tim will share any questions with TSKP prior to our next meeting.
