REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Frank Lawlor
called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present: Frank Lawlor, Dave Palmer, Jr., Alice Van Tasel, Tony Bruno and
Carl Rohrbach, Jr.

Present: First Selectman Dave Pinney, Deputy Fire Chief Frank Falcone,
Deputy Fire Marshal Glen

BUSINESS:

A motion was made by
Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mrs. Van Tasel and passed unanimously to go into
executive session to interview finalists for position of Fire Marshal
o
The Commission exited
executive session at 7:55 p.m.
·
A
motion was made by Mr. Bruno, seconded by Mr. Palmer and passed unanimously
recommending Mr. David Mauldin to the Board of Selectmen for the position of
Fire Marshal pending a courtesy meeting between Mr. Mauldin and the Fire Chief.

The Board and others
present discussed expectations of and needs for the Fire Marshal including
o
20 hours per week
needed to alleviate the current backlog in the required yearly inspections
o
Monthly
written reports to the Commission by the Fire Marshal
o
Location
of Fire Marshal’s office…..Town Hall or Fire Station

A motion
to adjourn was made at 8:30 p.m. by Mr. Bruno, seconded by Mr. Palmer and passed
unanimously. The next regular meeting is
October 18, 2007 at 7 pm at the Somers Fire House.
