TOWN OF SOMERS
REGULAR MEETING
THURSDAY, OCTOBER
4, 2007
David Olsen, Co-Chairman called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. in the Assessor’s Office, 600 Main Street, Somers, Connecticut. Also present were Bob Loubier, Co-Chairman, and Patricia J. Juda, Assessor.
Bob made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 14, 2007 meeting. This motion was seconded by Dave and unanimously approved.
There was no correspondence.
· Sales ratio for June was .61. Report filed with State July 2, 2007.
· Sales ratio for July was .60. Report filed with State August 2, 2007.
· Sales ratio for August was .59. Report filed with State September 5, 2007.
· Sales ratio for September was .59. Report filed with State October 3, 2007.
· M-35B Municipalities Claim for Reimbursement of Revenue Loss on Owner’s Program due July 1, was mailed June 27, 2007 for $51,497.00.
· M-35C Assessor’s Claim for Elderly & Totally Disabled Renters filed June 28th, July 30th and September 26th.
· M-59 Assessor’s Claim for Reimbursement of Revenue Loss for Additional Veterans’ due August 1st was filed July 30, 2007 for $10,189.75.
· M-36P & M35P Reductions to Freeze & Homeowners due October 1, filed September 6, 2007.
· Personal Property legal notice scheduled to be published 10/5/2007.
· As of July 23, the Assessor’s records can be retrieved online at www.totalvaluation.com. Requests for field cards to be faxed have come to a complete halt. This service is very beneficial to the citizens and this office.
· As of October 1, 2007, there are 294 permits that require physical inspections.
· September Board of Assessment Appeals met on September 20, resulting in two reductions to motor vehicle assessments totaling $83.87 in tax loss.
Bob made a motion to accept the Assessor’s report as one of progress. Dave seconded this motion. This motion was unanimously approved.
Pat Juda has begun preparing the RFP for Somers’ 2009 Revaluation.
Bob made a motion to accept the Assessor’s revaluation report. Dave seconded this motion. This motion was unanimously approved.
6. The following bills were approved for payment:
· James W. Sewall Company for mapping $ 175.00
· Quality Data for administrative software 4,625.00
· Total Valuation Services LLC CAMA software 5,825.00
· Adkins Printers for Personal Property forms 183.07
· W.B. Mason for toner cartridge 189.99
· James W. Sewall Company for mapping 1,055.00
Bob made a motion to approve payment of the above invoices. Dave seconded this motion. This motion was unanimously approved.
7. New Business
The Board requested a schedule of monthly meetings be created for 2008 with meetings beginning at 6:15 p.m.
8. Adjournment
Bob made a motion to adjourn at 7:05 p.m.. This motion was seconded by Dave Olsen and unanimously approved.
