Cultural Commission

Present: John

Financials:
- Linda
Abbott presented the results of the fundraising appeal
- Three
checks that were paid to vendors have not been cashed, these will be
redeposited in the Cultural Commission account.
- Check
for sandwiches for Boston Jazz Trio will be cashed by John Cowles and the
cash given to Dee Moak who spent the money.
Art Show:
- Rated
a very well attended show
- $2000.00
in sales for artists which generated $400.00 cash for Cultural Commission
- Groceries
for show were donated.
- Linda
Perkoski has pictures of opening, will give to Robert and he will get them
on web site.
- 134
people at opening, another 133 signed in as guests during the week.
- Discussed
eliminating memorial prize next year and adding $250.00 to grand prize.
Concerts & Entertainment:
- Boston
Jazz Trio was not well received.
- Flamingo
Band, Amy Galatin, and the band that played for the indoor concert were
rated highly.
- Robert,
John, Dee will be concert committee for next year.
- Need
to find Irish Folk Singer for a St. Patricks day concert for next year
March 14 or15 in town hall.
Holiday Tea:
- Will
be Sunday December 2, 2007. Jaci
is chairperson
- Jazz
Choir will be entertainment, Robert Hall to coordinate with Jaci. Fee: $100.00
- Janice
to create tickets and flyer. She
will present sample of each to commission at next meeting.
- Advertising
needs to be done in November, tickets to be sold starting November
15.
- Need
to check with Dee to see if she will do reservations.
- Linda
and Neil will coordinate decorations.
There will be a meeting on the Thursday morning before the tea to
help in the town hall. Volunteers
requested.
- 8-10
Card tables are needed, please drop at Neil’s house.
- The
table cloths will be dyed to improve their color.
- Ticket
prices will be increased to $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for children.
Town Seal:
- Neil,
Linda Perkoski, Linda Abbott, Janice Steinmets to be on committee.
- Janice
to bring in some printouts of other town seals at next meeting.

Next Meeting November 5, 2007, at Piedmont due to Veteran’s
day holiday.
