TOWN OF SOMERS

LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE

December 19, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 5:10 PM.

MEMBERS PRESENT; TIM Welch, Bob Socha, Mike Gruber, Andy Phillips, Shirley Warner and Irma Claman. Phil Rosenthal and Jim Conlin were absent.

Also present was Francine Aloisa.

Further discussion was had about re-applying for the increased state grant of one million dollars.

Andy Phiilips moved that the Library Building Committee recommends that the increased 2008 state library grant not be pursued and that the building committee proceeds as planned. Seconded by Bob Socha and approved unanimously.

Shirley Warner will send a letter to the Board of Selectmen and the Finance Board informing them of this decision.

The committee reviewed the suggestions and corrections made by Bob Socha to the existing drawings.

Francine Aloisa reported on her meetings with several movers in connection with the re-location of the children’s library to Kibbe-Fuller. No problems are anticipated with the move.

Shirley Warner moved that the Library Board is in favor of moving the children’s library to Kibbe-Fuller during construction of the new library and that the Library Building Committee accepts their recommendation. Seconded by Mike Gruber and approved unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 7:05 PM.
