TOWN OF SOMERS

LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE

January 23, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 5:05 PM.

MEMBERS PRESENT; Tim Welch, Mike Gruber, Andy Phillips, Shirley Warner, Bob Socha and Irma Claman. Jim Conlin and Phil Rosenthal were absent.

Also present were Francine Aloisa and John Wilcox.

Bob Socha moved that the committee confirms the approval of payment of invoice #4, dated December 6, 2007, in the sum of $84,450.00. Seconded by Shirley Warner and approved unanimously.

Jeanette O’Connell will present the palette of colors and furnishings at the January 30^th meeting. The final cost estimate will also be presented at that meeting.

Tai Soo Kim presented three estimates submitted by Goodco Painting for refinishing the existing stained woodwork in the present library. The figures will be included in the final cost estimate.

Bob Socha and John Wilcox discussed the questions raised by Bob on the updated drawings.

Francine Aloisa reported on her meeting with Mary Louise Jensen , the State Library Building Consultant, who made several alternate recommendations as to the placement of the bookshelves in the new library.

The contract with National Library Relocations for the move of the children’s library to Kibbe-Fuller has been turned over to David Pinney for his signature.

The meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
