Jim was going to give Barbara a call to see what the status of this position is. Sue King was checking into where the high school has their Spartan Advocate printed and she will get back to us with this information.

OLD BUSINESS:

information on this item should be available at the next meeting. Jim was going to contact Barbara Flebotte/
Town Charter 5-17 Adv. Committee to the Elderly – A copy of this charter was given to each board member for their review to see if we are doing what has to be done to satisfy these requirements.
NEW BUSINESS:
Reappointment Letters – Board members recently received their reappointment letters to the board. Jim still had not received one although he did so in previous years.
Life Line Screening – Life line will be at the senior center on March 15, 2008. Pre-registration is required to take part in this series of medical tests. Fees are also charged.
COMMENTS:
Dave Pinney asked if there were any special areas of concern where the town could better help our seniors. Ideas presented to him were interesting more seniors in being active at the senior center, changing the “club” name to fellowship or something similar, reduction in the price of the weekly lunches, a network support to offer help to those with special needs for outdoor work, rides, etc. and the waiving of fees for yard clean-up materials being taken to the transfer station, etc. Jim reported that many of the seniors he has contacted are happy the way things are and they enjoy just being in their own comfort situation.
ADJOURNMENT: Adjournment at 11:45 by motion of Dottie Hillman and seconded by Arlene Yarnes.
Respectfully submitted,
Elaine L. Bemont, Secretary
