LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE
March 12, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 5:10 PM.
MEMBERS PRESENT; Tim Welch, Shirley Warner, Bob Socha, Phil Rosenthal, Mike Gruber and Irma Claman. Andy Phillips and Jim Conlin were absent.
Also present were Francine Aloisa and John Wilcox.
Bob Socha moved to approve the minutes of February 13, 2008. Seconded by Phil Rosenthal and approved unanimously.
Francine Aloisa spoke about the proposed move of the children’s library to Kibbe-Fuller. Francine and Shirley Warner previously submitted a list to the selectman’s office of the things to be done at Kibbe-Fuller before the library can occupy the space by April 15th, but, to date, none of the items have been taken care of.
Irma Claman moved to pay Tai Soo Kim the sum of $12,720.00, as per bill dated March 4, 2008, for construction documents. Seconded by Shirley Warner and approved unanimously.
The Invitation to Bid has been published in the March 12,
2008 edition of the Journal Inquirer.
Sealed proposals will be received until March 26, 2008 at 3 PM at the
Bob Socha raised the question of the need for a Clerk of the Works for the library project. The committee agreed on the need and Tim Welch will pursue the matter further.
The meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
