                                                LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE

The meeting was called to order at 5:10 PM.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT;  Tim Welch, Andy Phillips, Shirley Warner, Mike Gruber and Irma Claman.

Phil Rosenthal was absent.

Also present were Francine Aloisa and John Wilcox.

 

The children’s library has been moved to Kibbe-Fuller and the library will open to the public on Monday, May 5th.

 

Shirley Warner spoke of plans being made for a groundbreaking ceremony on  Monday, May 19th at 1 PM.

 

The committee discussed the 8 alternates to the bid package:                   

                                                                                                                                               

                Alternate #1 – Multipurpose room wood floor  $18,000                                Yes

                Alternate #2 – Gas fireplace  $35,000         No decision pending further information

                Alternate #3 – Refinish existing wood trim  $10,000                                       Yes

                Alternate #4 – Residential appliances  $1500                                                  Yes

                Alternate #5 – Floor radiant heating  $24,000                                                  Yes

                Alternate #6 – Additional millwork units  $17,000                                          Yes

                Alternate #7 – Additional plantings  $5000                                                     Yes

                Alternate #8 – Irrigation  $3000                                                                         Yes

 

The committee agreed to 7 out of the 8 alternates.  The question of the gas fireplace will be decided at the next meeting when additional figures will be available.

 

The meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM.
