The Somers Resident Trooper’s Office is committed to the
safety of our town through professional service to our citizens. If anyone has
any issues that would require police service, including motor vehicle complaints
or other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Emergency police service is available 24 hours a day by dialing
911.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Somers Resident Trooper Office also provides many services
for the citizens of Somers,
including the following:
FingerPrinting
Any Somers resident in need of fingerprinting for State or
Local Applications can have this completed at the Somers Resident Trooper
Office. Fingerprinting will only be completed between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m.,
seven days a week.
Pistol Permits
Any Somers residents desiring to obtain a state pistol permit
can pick up an application kit at the Somers Resident Trooper’s Office.
Applicants are welcome to stop by anytime to pick up the applications, however
we recommend you call ahead to make sure someone is in the office. In order to
avoid any inconvenience, we recommend you stop by between 10:00 am and 1:00
p.m., Monday – Friday.
Child Seat Installations and Inspections
Somers residents in need of having their Child’s Safety Seat
Installed and/or Inspected may contact Tpr Petruzzi

to make an appointment. Additionally, two clinics, typically one in mid spring,
the other in early fall, are performed where no appointment is required. Please

Operation Safeguard
Operation Safeguard is a national program to inform the
private sector as to how they can assist with Homeland Security. Presentations
can be tailored to specific types of businesses so that employees can be trained
in what to do if they observe suspicious activity. Please contact Tpr Petruzzi

Crime Prevention Surveys
Upon request, homes and small businesses can be inspected to
identify aspects that can improve their physical security. A written report can
be made with suggestions that will aid in preventing potential criminal acts.
