The board of finance is responsible for:
1. managing the town’s fiscal budget.
2. working closely with the town’s treasurer and all departments in preparing
fiscal budgets and monitoring both income and expenses.
3. designating an independent public accountant to audit the town’s books as
required by the General Statutes.
Members must be an elector and taxpayer of the town, take an oath to
faithfully perform their duties and hold no salaried town office.
This board is comprised of six members who are elected at each biennial election
for a six year term. The newly elected officials are seated two weeks following
the general municipal election.
