Road Work - Chip Seal Schedule

The Town of Somers, Department of Public Works, has announced that the following roads are scheduled to be resurfaced, starting July 24 through August 11, 2006, weather permitting: Grist Mill Terrace and Hutton, Sokol, Avery, King, Bradley, Watchaug, Kibbe Grove, Newsome, Schneider, Stafford, Bradway, Rocky Dundee, and the south end of Ninth District Road.

All residents are requested to drive slowly over the loose stones and seek an alternate route where possible. Questions regarding the project should be directed to the Public Works Department at 763-8238.

Our highway crew is a dedicated group of individuals. Please make their jobs easier by following these few rules:

Adhere to posted and special speed limits and directional signs.
No On Street Parking during inclement winter weather. We can't plow the roads correctly if they are filled with parked vehicles.
Do not litter. Debris from the mowing equipment is dangerous to the crew, as well as passersby.
Report unsafe road/sign conditions to the Highway Department at 763-8238. We have an answering machine and will return your call.
