Somers Senior Citizens’ Club sponsors Health Program

The Somers Senior Citizens’ Club will be hosting a special free evening program that is of great importance not only for seniors but also for their adult relatives and/or any other adults. Therefore, adults of all ages are invited to attend.

Ms. Lee Almand, MSW of the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut, Inc. of Vernon will be giving a presentation regarding Advance Directives. These Directives (which all adults should have regardless of their age) include Living Wills, Healthcare Representatives (formerly Health Proxies), Do Not Resuscitate Orders (DNR), etc. Ms. Almand will discuss each of these documents, provide sample handouts, and will allocate sufficient time for questions and answers.

The program will be Tuesday, June 12th, at 7 pm at the Somers Senior Center, 19 Battle Street, Somers. As the Club will be providing complimentary light refreshments and Ms. Almand will be distributing sample document handouts to attendees, we ask that all those who plan to attend please register at the Somers Senior Center so that we can ensure we have sufficient refreshments and handouts. You may either stop in at the Somers Senior Center to sign up or you may call the Somers Senior Center at 763-4379. Again, adults of all ages are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there for this very informative program.
