Structure Fires

Somers volunteer Fire fighters responded to the Lord Somers Center at the intersection of 190 & Rt. 83 around 8:45am on Saturday to find smoke coming out of the roof rafters. The fire was under control within about 40 minutes and the building was saved. One business received fire and smoke damage, and several others just smoke damage. No one was injured.

Lt. Pagani and FF Brandon Thibodeau inspect the Fire Place at Shallowbrook Equestrian Farm in Somers. The fire was quickly contained but the horse stalls had already filled with smoke. About 40 horses were removed and brought into an arena until they were cleared to return.
